先天性弓形蟲病的臨床表現(xiàn)復(fù)雜。多數(shù)嬰兒出生時(shí)可無癥狀，其中部分于出生后數(shù)月或數(shù)年發(fā)生視網(wǎng)膜脈絡(luò)膜炎、斜視、失明、癲癇、精神運(yùn)動(dòng)或智力遲鈍等。下列不同組合的臨床表現(xiàn)：視網(wǎng)膜脈絡(luò)膜炎、腦積水、小頭畸形、無腦兒、顱內(nèi)鈣化等應(yīng)考慮本病可能。后天獲得性弓形蟲病病情輕重不一，免疫功能正常的宿主可表現(xiàn)急性淋巴結(jié)炎zui為多見，約占%。免疫缺損者如艾滋病、、惡性腫瘤（主要為霍杰金病等）常有顯著全身癥狀，如高熱、斑丘疹、肌痛、關(guān)節(jié)痛、頭痛、嘔吐、譫妄，并發(fā)生腦炎、心肌炎、肺炎、肝炎、胃腸炎等。眼弓形蟲病多數(shù)為先天性，后天所見者可能為先天潛在病灶活性所致。臨床上有視力模糊、盲點(diǎn)、怕光、疼痛、淚溢、中心性視力缺失等，很少有全身癥狀。炎癥消退后視力改善，但常不*恢復(fù)。可有玻璃體混濁。檢查.病原學(xué)檢查將可疑病畜或死亡動(dòng)物的組織或體液，做涂片、壓片或切片，甲醇固定后，作瑞氏或姬氏染色鏡檢可找到弓形蟲滋養(yǎng)體或包囊。.用CR方法檢測(cè)特異性核酸.血清學(xué)診斷間接熒光抗體試驗(yàn)、間接血凝抑制試驗(yàn)、酶聯(lián)免疫吸附試驗(yàn)和補(bǔ)體結(jié)合試驗(yàn)檢測(cè)特異性IgM、IgG、IgA抗體或血清循環(huán)抗原。蟲的裂殖子( bradyzoites )會(huì)於貓的腸道壁內(nèi)進(jìn)行增殖，但通常都是無任何癥狀的，僅有少數(shù)病例會(huì)引發(fā)輕微下痢。
